Keratometry measures are still an everyday part of contact lens practice. This workshop will allow delegates to practise conducting keratometry readings and then understand how they relate to spectacle astigmatism. Insertion and removal of soft contact lenses will be viisted and via peer discussion relative merits of different approaches explored allowing the individual to decide on a technique(s) suitable for him or her. |

Kamlesh Chauhan BSc (Hons), PhD, MCOptom has over 20 years experience in teaching. Kamlesh has taught at under-graduate, MSc, PhD and post-graduate clinical training. He is a senior College examiner, Chair of the College's Assessment Board, Editor for the College OSCEs and part of the review group for the Scheme for Registration.
Outside of the College duties he taught at Manchester university in topics including geometrical optics, statistics and research methods, contact lenses, binocular vision, instrumentation techniques, ocular disease and management and refraction.
Kamlesh has also written some peer-reviewed clinical articles including the use of slit-lamps. He is currently the Head of The Vision Care Institute, UK for Johnson & Johnson Medical Ltd.

Keratometers are available in each of the 6 consulting rooms.
There will be a plentiful supply of soft lenses to practise insertion and removal of lenses.
