Learning Objectives : a) Delegates will be able to conduct slit-lamp techniques required to safely manage patient care
b) Delegates will know which slit-lamp techniques to conduct when examining patients suspected of certain conditions or when conducting a general anterior eye exam
c) Delegates will be able to differentiate between normal and abnormal findings
Author Short CV(s) : Kamlesh Chauhan BSc (Hons), PhD, MCOptom has over 20 years experience in teaching. Kamlesh has taught at under-graduate, MSc, PhD and post-graduate clinical training. He is a senior College examiner, Chair of the College's Assessment Board, Editor for the College OSCEs and part of the review group for the Scheme for Registration. Outside of the College duties he taught at Manchester university in topics including geometrical optics, statistics and research methods, contact lenses, binocular vision, instrumentation techniques, ocular disease and management and refraction. Kamlesh has also written some peer-reviewed clinical articles including the use of slit-lamps. He is currently the Head of The Vision Care Institute, UK for Johnson & Johnson Medical Ltd. Other tutors wil all be experienced in teaching on in small group formats as well as lectures

Special Facilities / Equipment :
a) High quality slit lamps with built in filters such as Wratten 12 and variable neutral density filters b) High definition cameras on all slit lamps with two video monitors in each of 6 consulting rooms c) There is an ability to record images and video by delegates so that they can return to work with their own material (pen drives to store the images will be provided without cost to delegates)
